Prices can vary widely across Europe & Canada/USA & Africa with the varying supply & demand. The UK is a relatively small market & Europe & USA can offer a greater choice of machines often at extremely competitive prices & in fantastic condition

Often, used specialist machines are available on the continent and are far better value than an equivalent machine in the UK. The barriers to importing them can be significant and include finance, language, currency and exchange rates, transport, customs, IPAFFS and the various HMRC and DVLA requirements. Farmers may also have machines to part exchange, or sell, which, along with the above, are all massive deterrents to most UK farmers seeking to buy from overseas.

FarmCash provides farmers with a simple, full-service solution whereby a UK farmer can easily purchase a specialist machine from abroad, for a better price and condition than a similar machine on the UK market (if a similar machine is even available on the UK market) . A full, inspection can also be arranged to ensure peace of mind.

Finance is obviously a huge factor in purchasing expensive machinery and this alone has often deterred the UK purchaser from sourcing in the non-UK market. The traditional barrier has been that overseas dealers require payment prior to shipping the machine, UK finance providers require the machine to be in the UK before releasing funds. FarmCash completely eliminates this catch 22 situation by providing the bridging finance to solve the ‘touch metal on UK soil’ verification issue.

Put in simple terms, the farmer identifies the machine they wish to buy, negotiates a price directly with the supplier, or with FarmCash. Farmcash then provides a ‘delivered to the yard’ quote and then the purchase is made.

What is FarmCash?

FarmCash is a single invoice finance product that frees up suppliers’ working capital that would otherwise have been tied up in unpaid invoices and enables suppliers to offer extended payment deals. The aim is to make it easier for suppliers to provide products and services to farmers but still match the payment cycle to the farmers’ own cashflow.

Who is it for?

Farm input suppliers who provide goods or services to agricultural business customers with whom they have an established trading relationship.

How does it work?

FarmCash takes assignment of the supplier’s invoice, pays the invoice value (less an agreed fee) to the supplier and collects payment by Direct Debit from the customer at specified dates in the future.

What will FarmCash fund and for how long?

Invoices of £2,500 – £15,000 (including VAT) can be funded for periods of 90 up to 270 days. The first payment will need to be made 90 days from invoice date or the date payment is made by FarmCash to the supplier.

How much will it cost?

A detailed rate card is tailored to each supplier’s requirement. A typical charge for a £7,500 deal, payable in 3 instalments over 180-day period, is £556. The fee can be added to invoice and payable by customer or discounted from the invoice.
